Item Description
Our first seen example in Auction #188 exceeded $13,000 with premium. That offering pulled this example from a West Virginia consignor who noted the correct town name is Littleton. The high contrast 1.25" reads "The John W. Davis For President Littletown W. Va." Surface has many hairline scratches but light enough so they show only slightly in reflected light. Right edge has .75" long area with dark stain dots. In reflected light, very small bit of air under the cello on right bkg. Front is about 96% clean and glossy. Reverse is missing the St. Louis Button Co. paper and metal rim and back have heavy oxidation but remain intact. Reverse edge of celluloid has 12 stain dots and 3 minute cello splits but each a trivial 1/32" and laying flat. A major rarity with very limited visual flaws.
