Item Description
7/8" reads "American Alliance For Labor And Democracy." Red faded a hair and tiny faint age dot on edge. Brunt backpaper. As WWI U.S. casualties began to mount in 1917, a "radical" peace movement "Peoples Council Of America" gained strength. The government worried about a working class revolution and directly supported the pro-war leadership of the AF of L's Samuel Gompers. The government funded the pro-war propaganda organization "American Alliance For Labor And Democracy" in order to split labor's opposition to the war. Scarce and VF.
