Item Description
13/16” brass rim holds very dark ferrotype, typical for this piece. However, overall images of both men are clearly visible, although magnification helps reveal the smaller details. Ferrotype’s surface is actually glossy and Exc. with no chips or cracks in the emulsion. A small stickpin is missing from the reverse. Historically important as 1860 saw the first use of photographically-produced jugate lapel badges. Listed as Hake #3046 with $4,050. value in 2004 Revised Prices.
