Item Description
See previous item #1589 for complete program for this event. 2" diameter by 6.25" tall metal trophy with engraved text on front reading "Walt's Field Day 1938 Boating Race/Bud Rickert/Walt Disney Studio." Trophy was made for Disney Studio employee picnic held June 4, 1938 at the Lake Norconian Hotel in Norco, California. According to the program, only 9 trophies were available at the event. This is for the rowing race organized by Hal Adelquist as listed in the program. Has all-over evident wear to the silver luster but o/w remains structurally sound and still displays nicely. Fine. First trophy of its kind we've seen. Unique. From the estate of bkg. artist Douglas "Bud" Rickert.
