Item Description
9.5x9.5x2.25" deep box contains tin litho toy w/built-in key. 1950s. Nice box art w/each side panel featuring images of Mickey, Minnie, Donald and Pluto, back panel is large Mickey poratrait. Top two inside end flaps are missing, two flap has been reattached on inside w/tape. A crease runs across the left panel, box has additional edge wear but still has clean appearance and displays Fine. Toy has 9.25" dia. base, height of the attached airplane is 5". The airplane is on a metal rod that connects to the "Disneyville" building at center. Has a small removable hard plastic Mickey Mouse pilot figure and plastic propeller. Scene on top of the base depicts Mickey and Minnie going on a picnic, Donald and Pluto looking up at the airplane, Goofy sleeping, two of Donald's nephews fishing while another lights a firecracker. There are two tunnels, one featuring Donald and the other Mickey. Also attached to the base is a bridge and the streamlined train. Outer rim edge of base reads "The Mickey Mouse Express" w/additional character illustrations and train depiction. Toy works and the train and airplane rapidly travel in a circle. The Mickey tunnel has a flag switch which when in the down position, causes the train to stop when it enters the tunnel. Toy has some tiny scattered paint nicks and scratches but retains a bright and glossy appearance. VF. Nicely designed toy. Scarce w/box.
