Item Description
Original 6x13" nice quality matte finish photo showing 18 team members in unifrom. They stand at dug out and behind them are spectators in the stands. Includes three Negro League legends and National Baseball HOF members: Buck Leonard, Jud Wilson and Raymond Brown. Other players include: Vic Harris, Wilmer Fields, Norman Jelly Jackson, Jerry Benjamin, Howard Easterling and Edsall Walker. Over the images of Harris and Benjamin there are vertical crease lines but these are lt. Some other lt. scattered handling creases but photo remains clean and image is sharp and clear. Reverse has some lt. aging and clear tape strips. Still displays Fine. The Grays became a member of the second Negro National League in 1935 and soon thereafter won nine consecutive pennants from 1937 to 1945. This is a wonderful photo of one of the most storied franchises in Negro League history.
