Item Description
9.75x12.25" spiral bound book w/slightly textured stiff paper cover w/printing in metallic silver w/bw paper sheets applied to stiff black paper sheets. This is the last of four such Christmas promotional books issued yearly by Kay Kamen from 1933 to 1936. This was in addition to the standard merchandise catalog that Kamen had introduced in 1934. First 12 sheets are text only, detailing all aspects of promotions using Mickey Mouse. Titles include "Mickey Mouse Parade, Mickey Mouse Band, Shopping Guide, Give-Aways, Autograph Book, Personal Appearance (noting special Mickey and Minnie Mouse costumes that were available), Coloring Contest, Take Your Picture With Mickey Mouse, Merchandise Booths, Catch Lines From Mickey," etc. One page describes the "Give-Away" items available while another page pictures them, including - Mickey Mouse and Practical Pig masks, buttons for Mickey, Donald Duck and Big Bad Wolf, Mickey "Magic Carpet" book, magic slate and balloons. Final set of five sheets (which are stapled at top as issued) feature a total of nine different ad mats w/Mickey Mouse and Santa Claus or Christmas themes. All sheets were originally lightly glued to the stiff paper pages but have come loose over the years. This has not caused any damage and all remains clean. These could be easily remounted if desired. Cover has lt. wear along edges but bright and clean. VF w/Exc. contents. Extremely rare and historically significant. The only copy for of this 1936 catalog we have ever offered.
