First edition "Something Like An Autobiography" 6-3/8x9.5" hardcover w/210 pages and dust jacket was published in 1982 by Alfred A. Knopf, Inc. Autobiography of legendary Japanese film director, screenwriter, producer, and editor Akira Kurosawa, widely regarded as one of the most important and influential filmmakers in the history of cinema, directing 30 films in a career spanning 57 years. Best known for "Ikiru" (1952), "Seven Samurai" (1954) and "Yojimbo" (1961). Kurosawa has signed title page in blue ink. DJ shows wear w/1" tears at bottom left of front cover w/1.5" area of moisture staining, though this is only noticeable in reflected light. VG overall, book itself and signature are Exc. Comes w/5.25x8.25" softcover proof copy marked "This Is An Uncorrected Proof" at top. Book shows lt. handling wear w/a couple small and faint spots of moisture to front cover. VF/Exc. Comes with Hake's COA and JSA LOA.
