Item Description
High quality 6x6x5.75" tall wooden box w/two hinged lids contains professionally mounted and balanced chronometer measuring 2.75" in dia. Top hinged lid opens to reveal chronometer under glass pane and second hinged lid opens to allow access to the chronometer itself. Back of case mounting has the following text - "Hamilton Watch Co. Model 22-21 Jewels - Adj. To Temp. & 6 Pos. - Made In U.S.A. - U.S. Navy-BU. Ships-1943" which dates this piece to 1943. Serial number of movement is 2F26503. Movement is original as are all case parts. Front bezel of clock has matching numbers stamped in brass. All case parts bear this matching number, indicating they are original and correct. Front of case has "Hamilton Watch Co. Lancaster, Pa., U.S.A." metal plaque attached and another Hamilton text plaque is mounted on inside back edge of second hinged lid (under glass pane). Chronometer has been adjusted and keeps time. Case shows lt. wear from use but inner mechanisms remain clean and Exc. overall.
