c. mid-1920s, likely done for “Life” when it was a cartoon publication. 12.5x17.75” art board has 11.25x17” India ink image area w/captions hand lettered in fountain pen ink. Skippy is at the top of a building waiting for a man below to dive who is preening for the girls. Skippy finally does a graceful swan dive saying “I Can’t Wait For Him All Day!” Art is signed in ink by creator “P.L. Crosby” at lower right. Image area has age yellowing and lt. tanning, .25” narrow scrape near center bottom edge. Will mat and frame to VG appearance. Wonderful example of Crosby’s delicate line work.
