Item Description
Two 11.25x15-7/8" thin artboards featuring original pen and ink art w/ink wash by comic book artist Sonny Trinidad for "Dracula Lives!" comic magazine issue #9 published by Marvel Comics in Nov., 1974. "Twice Dies The Vampire" story was written by Gerry Conway w/gorgeous Gothic interior art by Trinidad. Art is for pages 45 and 50 (see following item #1946). Art shows Dracula in Madrid, Spain engaging in a battle of wits w/a shadowy nemesis by the name of Carlos Muerte, who was in fact Death. One close-up shows Dracula looming over bloody neck of victim, another shows him in bat form. Dracula is shown in seven panels, including one w/just his hand clenching a man. A few penciled notations at margins. Reverse of each page has Marvel Comics Group copyright stamp and onionskin overlay w/editorial notes. Pages have lt. aging at margins but are o/w Exc. Wonderfully illustrated.
