Item Description
18x38x44" tall high quality wooden bureau from a series of furniture and furnishings produced in the 1950s. Wonderful design includes peg on right side for hanging clothing (or lassos), fence slat door at right that opens to reveal sliding drawers that are removable if desired to use as a closet (there is a dowel rod across top), three drawers w/iron-like pulls and small shelf that can be installed on the inset bureau panel which features a 5.5x7.25" leather patch that has been "branded" w/"Hopalong Cassidy And 'Topper'" image. Other items in this series included a desk, chair, toy chests, stool, dresser, bunk beds, etc. Only this bureau and the desk featured the leather Hoppy patch. These items are shown in Joe Caro's "Hopalong Cassidy Collectibles" book, w/this item being listed as having a value of $2,000. Bureau has scattered wear w/a few scratches and scuffs. Left side has more moderate wear and wooden backing has some cracks, though all in intact. Fine. Leather patch is Exc. Rare and first we've offered in our 46 years.
