Item Description
This 1949 Peter Pan Peanut Butter premium is called the "Electronic Television Picture Ring." The ring is in beautiful full luster Mint condition; however the interior picture of Sky King is no longer light sensitive so even after light exposure it no longer glows in the dark. The ring base depicts both his plane and his horse and ring top has red plastic compartment covered with a brass hinged lid holding a magnifying lens at the center. The compartment is intended to be used to display each of four cardboard photos which are as originally issued as a single strip and had to be developed by the recipient. All four photos are here and uncut although with a vertical fold line down a margin at the center. Unlike many, these have excellent contrast and the photos are of Clipper, Penny, Jim, and Martha. In addition the rarely seen 3.75"x5" instruction is here. This has original folds as issued and a couple of extra small scattered creases from being packed into the ring box; however it is totally bright and clean. With the one exception of the non-glowing Sky King image this set is complete and among the very best we have ever offered.
