Item Description
This is among the earliest litho tin buttons and was issued as part of an apparent set of 50 circa 1912. Metal back reads "Factory No. 30, 2nd District New York." Both Hassan and Sweet Caporal cigarettes have been identified with this factory. Cartoonists represented in the set include Bud Fisher with his art appearing on this example. Additional artists were Rube Goldberg and Thomas Dorgan. Some tiny dots of paint off the rim edge but an exceptionally clean and bright example from this series.
