Item Description
The stickpin is one of the very first primarily of celluloid. It is 1.25" in choice color mounted on a 2" vertical pin. Reverse tin back names maker Torsch & Lee, Baltimore, Md. Scene includes buildings, light pole, lighthouse, and boardwalk and beach covered in strollers and swimmers. There is one version reading simply "Atlantic City" but this is a second version reading "Just Tell Them That You Saw Me On The New Boardwalk/Atlantic City 1896." About four near invisible gray pinpoint marks on extreme rim edge. The piece displays superbly and with full color and gloss. Second item is 2.75" tall vertical with metal back and vertical pin. Small light stain around the upper rim edge but not very deeply into the scene. Shows woman in bathing outfit raising her arms against illustrated sunburst plus buildings in the background. Text reads "Atlantic City/Next/Bathing Girls?/Beaucoup Plenty." A rare pair.
