c. early 1940s. Scarce12.25x15.25x4” deep box has different graphics on lid and four sides w/fighter planes in action. Side panel has original price sticker. Lid has dust soil and edge wear. Near Fine appearance. Box insert holds 8.5” long plane w/12”wingspan and four spring loaded ships, each 5.5” long. Each has name and point score. Includes: Freighter 100, Armed Supply Ship 200, Destroyer 300, Battleship 500. Plane has lt. wear. Fine. Boats are VF. Comes w/fold-out paper target for placement of ships which opens to 28x42” w/nice graphics of bombing areas near sea edge including air field, munitions factory, seaport. Target has numerous tiny pinholes from use, though not offensive. Bright and Fine appearance. Also includes one original and four replacement metal bombs. Game play involves plane dropping bombs on ships which spring into air when hit. Great design w/superb graphics throughout. Rare, especially w/box.
