Item Description
16.5x19.5x3" deep box contains early 1970s HO scale train set by Giroplast of Argentina. Box lid shows image of childish versions of Batman and Robin and generic-looking train image that has been customized w/added "wings" on locomotive and added batsymbol. "Batman Robin" batsymbol on front of second train. Box shows handling wear w/creases at corners and dust soiling. VG. This was a generic set that was customized by the manufacturer to capitalize on the popularity of Batman. Station, locomotive and tanker car each have batsymbol stickers added to them and locomotive engine has two pairs of what look like insect wings that have been customized and painted to look like bat wings and added to its sides. Set is missing only one small sign and is o/w complete. Engine works. VF overall. Rather crudely produced, but charming nonetheless. Rare.
