This is a variety of Hake #3221. Top of the piece holds movable brass bar pin 1.75” long. Reverse of the piece is covered in text plus name of the maker Murdock of Cincinnati. A sampling of the reverse text reads “The ‘Hurrah’ Campaign Procession Badge/’Rah! For McKinley, ‘Rah!” Most of text relates to the issue of gold and silver coinage. As typical with these there is a small depression in the shell in the area of McKinley’s cheek but otherwise luster is near perfect and the piece is extremely clean. Very impressive and a rare variety with this hinged bar pin.
