Item Description
c. 1859. Litho by T. Sinclair. High quality wood frame holds 22.25x30” poster w/38 images of named employees in individual floral motifs. Includes President J. Edgar Thomson who greatly expanded the railroad and newly promoted first vice-president Thomas A. Scott who would shortly become a Union officer involved in railroad activity in the Civil War. Border vignettes include two different steaming locomotive images, waving flag man, caboose, and workers on rolling platform on track. Scattered aging, a few lt. creases, numerous pinpoint dots of discoloration, a few margin pinholes. Left and right side blank margin edges trimmed a bit. Overall VG as framed. Ready for display. Historical.
