“Alfred E. Neuman For President” 1960 first version offered for $1. Similar kits were offered in 1964 and 1968, each with different contents. 9x12” envelope addressed to recipient in NY has “Mad Campaign Kits” printed return address on Lafayette St. in NYC. Lt. creasing and dust soil as mailed. Fine. “Campaign Headquarters” door sign is 7x17” folded as issued. Minor aging. VF. Folded as issued poster opens to 17x22” w/ classic image of Neuman in center surrounded by Democratic donkeys. Text at bottom reads “ The Mad Candidate ‘What-Me Worry?’”. Moderate handling wear & creases. Fine. Cloth hat was never worn but has tiny trace of oxidation where button lay against it as stored, otherwise totally clean and VF. 2.5” campaign button has lt. oxidation on back, front is totally bright and glossy. NM appearance. Nicely designed kit only missing bumper sticker.
