Item Description
1.5x2" matchbook has "Strike At The Seat Of Trouble - Buy War Bonds" text on front plus instructional text. Top edge has text "Match 'Em - Bond For Bomb." Back has cartoon image of nervous-looking Hitler hugging globe w/arrow pointing toward his rear end which is match striker. Inside cover has Herrup Bros. Super Tire Service Co. of Hartford, CT. imprint. Full pack of bomb-shaped variety matches. Exc. 2.25" dia. by 1-3/8" tall glazed ceramic has cartoon of miserable-looking Hitler inside bottom w/text reading "Hitler In Poland" and outside has text "Chums, What Would You Do?" Underside is stamped "Made in England." Typical hairline crazing under glaze, o/w Exc. Classic World War II pair.
