Lot of two. This "Humming Rocket Ship" concept was popular and offered in different ways over the years. In 1939 a "Whistling Rocket Ship" was made as a Buck Rogers Muffets cereal premium. Around the same time a similar "Humming" version was also issued by Muffets but with no reference to Buck. A sign to promote this was printed and is identical to the sign in this lot except the sign we are offering promotes this as a "Quaker Farina" premium. Includes images of this cereal at lower right rather than Muffets as did previous examples we have offered. Stiff paper sign is 14x19" and features great art of young boy and girl playing w/rocket which is prominently featured at top center. Has original fold lines, lt. scattered trace of dust soiling but still bright and great color. VF. Comes w/die-cut 5" long rocket w/attached string. Rocket is slightly different than the one shown on the sign. Reverse side has blank area that has been customized w/hand done text reading "Tune In On Space Cadet/See Your Local Newspaper For Time And Station/Kraft Caramels." Proposed as a Tom Corbett premium but ultimately never produced as such. Exc and unique.
