Item Description
3.5x5" nice quality matte finish photo c. 1940s. Superb full figure action shot of him in pitching stance. Shown in his Santurce uniform. Scoreboard in the background includes text "Kofresi" and "Cada Dia Mejor." Some surface paper adhered to back as once scrapbook mounted. Front shows only slightest handling wear. Bright and clean appearance with sharp image. Fine. Brown spent most of his years in the Negro League playing for Cum Posey's Homestead Grays and even married Posey's daughter Ethel. He also spent many seasons playing baseball in Mexico, Cuba and Puerto Rico. He was inducted into the National Baseball HOF in 2006. From the Richard Merkin Collection and comes with Hake's COA.
