Item Description
c. late 1930s. India ink image areas range from 7x9.5” to 8x9”. Scenes include Nazi plane with swastika on tail crashing into Navy ship, plane with gunner in cockpit bearing down on city, out of control burning plane leaving long smoke trail. All are by McWilliams, but only second one is signed “A. McWilliams” at bottom left. Burning plane thicker art board has 2.5” diagonal crease at lower right, but this blends well into image area. Trace of lt. dust soil and aging. Overall Fine appearance. Superb ink work with great detail.
