Item Description
8x10" glossy photo showing Easter being congratulated at home plate has ink stamp date of May 1, 1948 on reverse. Reverse side has ink caption "Billy Cowan (Grays mascot) Reds Fields & Luke Easter Crossing Home Plate After Easter's Home Run With Fields On Base In Sundays Exhibition Game Against The Elite Giants". Photo has lt. handling creases, mostly just visible in reflected light. Fine. Luke Easter played with the Homestead Grays in 1947 and 1948 and had his Major League debut with the Cleveland Indians in 1949, playing with them until 1954. From the Richard Merkin Collection and comes with Hake's COA.
