Item Description
7/8" brass disk has impressed image of Superman in red along with the name of an Australian newspaper "The Argus." Below this against a green panel are the words "Superman Club." Some loss of red color from his cape and trunks but most color remains and brass has nice metallic tone. This was issued c. 1947-1949 by a Melbourne daily newspaper which published the Superman comic strip each Friday in full color. The strip actually started in 1945 but the club was active in the 1947-49 years. Scarce even in Australia. About our fifth seen in five decades.
