Item Description
1-1/8" button c. 1950 when Nelson became a regular on the Texaco Star Theater TV show hosted by Milton Berle. Nelson and his puppet would appear in Texaco gas jockey uniforms. While the fan club button dates from that era the "Fire Fighter/Texaco Fire Chief/Club Member" button a, 2.25" litho, is possibly a little earlier. Nelson is also famous for his Nestlé chocolate commercials featuring his puppet Frafel the dog. The Texaco button has a few scattered tiny paint rubs and some silver luster off the reverse but overall is still Fine and rare. The Nelson button is rare and Mint.
