Item Description
7.5x13.5x8.5" tall toy comes in original box which features an image of the toy on front and back panels. 1950s by Saunders Tool & Dye Co. Aurora, Ill. Box has moderate wear and dust soiling including several small puncture marks and tears to side panels. Box remains tight and structurally sound, complete w/all cardboard inserts. Fine. Tractor is painted tin w/hard plastic robot figure, rubber treads. Has a number of decals including "Marvelous Mike Tractor" on each side of the tractor body, robot's chest has decal w/simulated gears, detailed dashboard decal showing fuel and air gauges. Toy comes w/original instruction sheet which has heavy wear. Sheet has noticeably tanned and has margin wear including small tears and flakes as well as tears through center. All text still legible. Fair. Instruction sheet notes that this is "The First Completely Automatic, Electrically Powered, Self Contained Toy." Toy travels around w/bump-and-go action as the robot shifts gears. The treads remain totally pliable and intact. The underside baseplate shows some very lt. surface oxidation but this in no way affects the outside appearance of the toy. Some of the decal on robot's chest is missing, about 80% remains. Front and back side decals show lt. staining but 100% complete. Toy has a few nicks on hood and dozer blade but overall Fine/VF. A working, very displayable boxed example of this classic toy.
