Item Description
First item is c.1942 Membership card is 2.75x4” two-sided thin cardboard. Includes Captain Marvel illustration and facsimile signature on front including text “Hero Of Whiz Comics” and “Captain Marvel Secret Code” on the back. Front has been signed in ink on designated member’s line. Tiny trace of aging. VF. Envelope is 3 5/8x4.5” with text in return address portion “Be Entertained And Smartly Informed Read Fawcett Publications W.H. Fawcett President.” Envelope has moderate dust soiling and handling creases. VG. From the Joe Gura Premium Collection. Next item is 2.5x3.75” stiff paper card. c. 1940s. ©Fawcett Publications, Inc. Front of card features full figure color image of Captain Marvel and has lift-up flap on bottom half to change the picture to a full figure image of his alter ego Billy Batson. Reverse features “Captain Marvel’s Secret Code” and remains unused with no signature. NM. Next is 4.75” long “Captain Marvel” Magic Flute, a sturdy cardboard tube with plastic mouthpiece and metal noisemaker inside. Tube design has “Captain Marvel” comic book title logo and flying image of him. Originally sold on a card and made by Lee Tex Rubber Products Corp. ©1946 Fawcett Publications, Inc. Scattered aging with 1/8x.5” surface paper lift on “Captain” of “Captain Marvel” title logo. .5x1” piece of tape at tip. VG/Fine. Last item in lot is "Captain Marvel Club/Shazam" tin litho button. 1944 version with blue background. Minor nicks at curl. VF/Exc.
