Item Description
1920s. Made by T.H. Stough Co. Jeannette, Pa. 4-7/8x7x7/8” deep thin cardboard box has wonderful lid graphics of two men racing. Box has splits on side panels and one corner seam. Top is a bit depressed and has sticker from stationery store over 3 letters of title. Lt. pencil name at bottom. Good. Envelope w/instructions that held playing pieces torn open at top but remains clean. Good. Contains tin litho gameboard designed like racetrack, original 1” long die-cast cars and two marbles. Gameboard has recessed areas in center with text noting mile advancement for each to be earned by using marbles. Perimeter has segments divided into 5 or 10 mile intervals, ending at 100 mile finish line. Tin litho playing board and pieces are Exc. Nice graphics including “Gulf Gas Station” on gameboard.
