13" tall classic doll by Ideal Novelty & Toy Co., 1940. Movable head and upper body are composition while rest is wood jointed. The red fabric cape is original, intact and very clean. Has a belt decal w/simulated buckle on front while back features copyright/company information. Has small scattered flakes with yellow color touchups. Wood parts show scattered lt. wear. Nearly all examples of this doll have crazing and peeling of the paint on the composition portion. This doll has professional restoration of entire composition upper body and head including the "S" emblem on his chest which is a perfect match to the original decal. Upper body now has exceptional appearance and looks as fresh as the day it was made. Overall a VF example.
