Item Description
14.5" tall nice quality doll c. 1934 with exact likeness to how she appeared in the Silly Symphony short "The Big Bad Wolf" of the same year. Stuffed cotton body, oil cloth face w/painted features, life-like hair, cotton outfit, felt cape, leatherette shoes w/cardboard soles. Unmarked but most likely by Knickerbocker and very close to the doll shown on page 65 of Disneyana by Munsey. Noticeable fade on hood and shoulder area of cape, rest of red color remains strong. Lt. aging on dress and hands. Fine. Relatively little merchandise was produced for this character and this is among the nicest of all. A very rare Disney doll, the only example we have offered in our 45 years.
