Item Description
Titled "Men Of The Year" depicted are "Sheppard"/"John H. Glenn Jr."/"Grissom." Sheppard made the first sub-orbital flight in Freedom 7, May, 1961. Gus Gissom made the second sub-orbital flight in Liberty Bell 7, July, 1961 (he was also the first man twice into space and later died in launch pad fire). Glenn's first orbital flight was in Friendship 7, February, 1962. Celluloid has a pinpoint speck upper right and three tiny 1/32" scratch lines upper left but these defects are very tiny and barely detectable. The only other example we've seen of this button had very noticeable age stain and still realized close to $200. This example is much nicer and displays NM.
