Item Description
1930s set number "1847" by Rogers Bros., a product of the International Silver Co. (famous for their silverplate Disney items such as boxed utensil sets, cups, baby plates, etc. See item #2311). 5x8x2.75" deep gray cardboard box has company label on one end panel noting set number and name "Ambassador Mickey Mouse With Child's Spoon, Fork and S.H. Knife." Box has aging but remains tight. Fine. The main item of this set is 7" tall wood figure of Mickey w/"lollipop" hands (see larger version of this figure, item #2312), rubber-covered fabric ears and fabric-covered wire tail. Chest has name decal with a few tiny flakes. Figure remains totally bright and clean with very glossy appearance. Slightest wear with a minor factory paint touch up on right side of face but figure remains in choice Exc. condition, as nice as these come. It would benefit from a restringing. Comes w/three piece silverplate utensil set marked "1847." Bright luster, Exc. Final and most interesting item is a cardboard frame designed to fit around Mickey for store display. Underside has illustrated instructions showing the frame as it is to be used. Frame has three sets of hooks designed to hold the utensils in place. Lt. wear and a pair of minor margin bends. VF. An exceptional and rarely seen item, this is the first we have offered in our 45 years.
