Item Description
5.5x7.75" with 192 pages. Book was written and published by Ludwig "Lud" Shabazian. Book includes two photographs and 19 illustrations by the author. Dust jacket has tiny bit of wear around edges and three inside corners of dust jacket have clips but dust jacket is o/w clean and VF. Book itself is NM choice condition. James J. Braddock (1905-1974) held the World Heavyweight Championship from 1935 to 1937. He lost several bouts and worked on docks during the Great Depression which earned him the nickname "The Cinderella Man" from Damon Runyon. He had a total of 86 fights with 51 wins, 26 by knockout. The 2005 biographical film "Cinderella Man", directed by Ron Howard and starring Russell Crowe told his story. Well written book includes a foreword by Damon Runyon. From the Richard Merkin Collection and comes with Hake's COA.
