Item Description
3x4.5" card with English halfpenny stamp is postmarked London "Jul 5 10E" and is addressed in ink to recipient in Bexley, Kent. Reverse side has applied nice cut out newspaper photo of well dressed Johnson wearing top hat and tie with four line handwritten poem in ink at top "Poor Old Jeff He's Gone To Rest, We Know That He Is Free For Johnson Has Disturbed His Rest And Won The Victory". Front has a few tiny rust marks, card has trace of lt. dust soil but overall near Exc. appearance. Very interesting item for the Jack Johnson completeist. From the Richard Merkin Collection and comes with Hake's COA.
