Item Description
Three items dated March 15, 1957. Mailing envelope is 5.5x7.5" with early art image of the Lone Ranger on Silver c.1930s-40s style ©T.L.R. Inc. Envelope is addressed to girl in Michigan. Envelope has some lt. dust soil with a few lt. handling creases. Fine. Typewritten letter is 8.25x11" on “General Mills, Inc.” stationary signed in blue ballpoint pen by “Henry Cox, Manager Of Radio And Television Production”. Body of letter mentions “We Are Very Sorry That You Missed The Lone Ranger’s Anniversary Show Which Told The Story Of How The Lone Ranger Came To Be” with additional paragraph “Enclosed You Will Find A Picture Of The Lone Ranger And Tonto Which They Want You To Have With Their Very Best Wishes”. Letter has one horizontal fold and two vertical folds as mailed to fit in envelope. Upper right side has very faint lt. tanning otherwise letter is VF. Photo is 5x6 7/8" glossy stiff paper with classic art image of the Lone Ranger and Tonto on horseback looking off in distance with facsimile signature at lower right “To Our Pal The Lone Ranger Tonto”. Lower left corner of photo has 1.25" diagonal crease and upper right corner tip has faint .75" diagonal crease. Image area is Fine/VF. Letter is first we’ve seen in our 45 years. Nice gesture by management relating to fan's concern.
