Item Description
c. 1940s. Seabees was a Disney designed emblem of WWII U.S. Naval construction battalion showing bee flying through air with machine gun wearing navy cap and carrying tools. 9.5x18" plaque is actual shipping crate side with stenciled image of seabee logo. Upper right has 4.75" dia. large size uniform patch and just beneath is 3.5x5.5" postcard #1656 titled "The Original Seabee At Camp Endicott, R.I." Official US Navy photo. Wood is a bit aged, plaque and postcard have Exc. appearance. Nice lot with scarce crate panel.
