Item Description
Two items. c. 1940s. 18x28.75" long canvas like material apron has wonderful 10" tall image area which includes silk screened Goofy as baker carrying huge birthday cake and about to trip over small bench on carpet. Apron has a few lt. folds as stored with trace of lt. aging but appears unused and near Exc. 5.5x7" card folder has four pages for event held January 15, 1944 at the Masquers Club in Hollywood honoring officers and men of the "Small Craft Training Center Roosevelt Base - San Pedro, California". Front cover has wonderful patriotic art image ©Walt Disney showing Mickey in army uniform forming V symbols with his fingers, Donald wearing navy hat carrying large American flag and Minnie as nurse holding hand of soldier who is standing next to sailor with scene surrounded by stars. Additional character art includes clown from Dumbo, Black Pete as bartender, one of three pigs baking pie, Fancy crow from Dumbo playing mandolin, Jiminy Cricket as cigarette salesman, and Mickey on back cover playing piano. Host and hostess were Mr. and Mrs. Sol Lesser. Entertainment included Benny Ross and Maxine Stone. Back cover has a few lt. glue stains from scrapbook removal o/w card is VF/Exc. overall. Nicely designed program from organization that held many shows for servicemen during WWII.
