Item Description
7/8" button with photo of 1955 TV show host of long-running program from Sioux Falls over call letters KELO-TV, Channel 11. Button includes station call letters but printed as "Kel-O-Land TV." This program was seen all over the Upper Midwest and continued until Dec., 1996, a 41 year run making it the longest running children's program in the area. Captain Eleven was portrayed by Dave Dedrick who was formerly the station's announcer and weatherman until he hosted this regionally famous show. Unlisted in the Hake guide and only the second example we've seen. There is a faint scratch next to the letter "C" of "Captain" but button still displays close to Mint.
