Item Description
Pair of heavy steel roller skates, each 3x12x3.75" tall w/wheel coverings simulating a rocket ship design. The top surface of each foot plate has incised Buck Rogers name and image of him flying through space. Also has 1930 copyright of John F. Dille Co. and name of Louis Marx & Co. Both are missing the leather straps but these could be easily replaced from any similar vintage pair of roller skates. Back end of each also has 1" dia. exhaust port-like opening which once held red reflector insert. These inserts are missing but could also be replaced. Underside of each skate has moderate traces of surface oxidation. Outer surface of each has aging to the metal w/some traces of pitting, scattered wear to the luster finish on top of each foot plate. Back of one foot plate also has some tiny spots of green paint. Despite the aging and defects, appearance remains quite nice w/much luster remaining. Fine. This is among the rarest Buck Rogers items and the only example we've ever been able to offer.
