Upper left has nice 1.5x2.25" inscription in gold ink "To Charlie Roberts With Best Wishes Walter Lantz". Walter Lantz (1899-1994) began his career at the age of 16 working on Jerry On The Job at the John Bray Studios and directed his first cartoon which he also starred in Dinky Doodle. He moved to Hollywood in 1927 where he worked briefly for director Frank Capra and was a gag writer for Mack Sennett comedies. He became director on Oswald The Lucky Rabbit cartoon series for Universal in 1928 and went on to greater fame with Andy Panda in 1939. Woody Woodpecker debuted in an Andy Panda short in 1940.
