Item Description
c. early 1900s. Each is 28" long felt with wonderful art images on front with Burke in various costumes. Titles are "The Bathing Girl/The Co-Ed/Sweet Sixteen/The Stage Beauty". Pennants have some lt. dust soil, most noticeable at white areas across tops, tiny piece missing off "Co-Ed" pennant. Overall Fine with relatively clean image areas. Great designs. Burke became a stage actress in 1903 and went on to be a musical comedy star on Broadway. These pennants date from that musical comedy star period c. 1910. She married Florenz Ziegfeld in 1914 and made her film debut in 1916. Perhaps her most famous role was playing Glinda The Good Witch of the North in "The Wizard of Oz". Pennants are great for display.
