Item Description
As we said in Auction #200 when we had a yellow bkg. variety of this ring, it is among the scarcest and best quality metal rings for Davy Crockett from the mid-1950s. Box is 1-3/8” square by almost 1” deep and finished in a woodgrain pattern. One underside edge of the box has a small scuff along the fold line but o/w the rest of the box is essentially Mint. The insert tray which holds the ring has an ink-stamped price of 29¢ along with a mark indicating an apparent “TX” (tax?) of 3¢. The ring is adjustable brass with portrait of him facing left against blue enamel paint bkg. and with his name on the side bands. Luster is not particularly bright on the brass but the ring is Mint as issued. Only example we’ve seen in this color.
