Item Description
F.F.F., Inc. was established Apr. 1941 and promoted full American participation in WWII. The group was an off-shoot of the Committee To Defend America By Aiding The Allies. One activity was monitoring activities of the leading isolationist group, the America First Committee (see item #876) and its key individuals such as Lindbergh, Wheeler and Nye. The F.F.F. had nationwide branches that promoted their position of being “Willing To Do Whatever Is Necessary To Insure A Hitler Defeat (including) Accepting The Fact That We Are At War, Whether Declared Or Undeclared.” This 6” tall ribbon with brass name plate badge was used for F.F.F. delegates at the Hotel Washington major event in 1941. The ribbon names the event as “Continental Congress For Freedom/Washington Oct. 9-10/Fight For Freedom.” The purpose of the event was to get Congress to repeal or modify the Neutrality Act. Herbert Agar gave the keynote address and Eleanor Roosevelt received women delegates at a major White House banquet with noted U.S. and international speakers on the evening of Oct. 9th. Ribbon has minor trace of age tone on the white stripe. Reverse has sticker of maker Bastian Bros. Condition is Exc. Historic and Rare. Only example we’ve seen.
