Item Description
3.5” celluloid with weighted interior and underside glass mirror with beveled edge. Curl names U.S.A. maker Parisian Novelty Co. Muchinsky attributes this as “A Company Sponsored Baseball Team In Mexico” (Z#98-$1750.00) but we believe the word “Meralco” is the acronym for the Philippines’ largest electric distributor with the letters standing for Manila Electric Railroad and Light Co. The design includes 2 baseballs, crossed bats, catcher’s mask and mitt with “Manager W.A. Seaton” at center surrounded by 15 players identified by their first initial, last name and an abbreviation of their player position. In addition, between the bat design, is photo of “Fidel/Mascot.” Exc. and displaying Mint. From the Richard Merkin Collection. Comes with Hake’s COA.
