Item Description
Each is 3.75x4.75”. First card includes cover text “A Big Merry Chris’mus For I Yam What I Yam An’ Tha’s All That I Yam.” Opens to reveal Popeye with Olive, Wimpy and King Guz with Popeye saying “An’ I Likes Ya Like Nobody’s Bizness!!” Hall Bros. ©1934. Second card has excited Popeye yelling “Do I Wish Ya A Merry Chris’mus” and opens to reveal him yelling “Ya Dern Tootin’.” Third card has image on front of Popeye holding wreath in snowstorm and opens to reveal him dressed as Santa Claus walking towards snow-covered chimney carrying huge bag of spinach. Last 2 cards are Canadian, printed by Wm. E. Coutts Co. Toronto. Each card is signed in ink by sender. One Canadian card comes with Dec. 20, 1934 envelope addressed to recipient in USA. Cards have a few minor handling creases. Overall VF/Exc. Bright color and wonderful graphics.
