Item Description
Seven items. 10-1/8x13.25” wooden frame has 8-7/8x12-1/8” opening revealing sheet music with wonderful graphics of 5-member band playing the blues. Art is by Barbelle, published by Jack Mills, Inc. New York. Professionally framed and displays Exc. Real photo postcards are 3-3/8x5.5” c. 1920s-1930s. Each has different photo of team members in pinstripe uniforms. One photo is titled “The Infield House Of David Juniors,” all others are either titled House of David “Team” or “Players.” All are postally unused. Four have standard postcard backs, 2 have Eden Springs Israelite House of David Benton Harbor, Mich., U.S.A. text. Slight aging, most noticeable around edges but group overall is VF. The House of David was a religious colony in Benton Harbor, Mich. started in the early 1900s. Members of the colony formed a baseball team that evolved into a competitive/exhibition team that traveled throughout the country. Members had a distinctive look of very long hair and long beards.
