Item Description
8x9-7/8” glossy shows Cardinals pitcher Dizzy Dean shaking hands with Detroit Tigers pitcher Linwood Schoolboy Rowe as Paul Dean looks on with microphones in foreground. Photo is dated Oct. 13, 1934 on reverse with news staff photographer Mac Gregor ink stamp credit. Cardinals won the series 4 to 3. The Dean Brothers were outstanding pitchers, winning 49 games in the regular season and both had combined for all 4 St. Louis victories in the 1934 series. Numerous lt. handling creases, mostly just visible in reflected light. Fine. Great trio photo. From the Richard Merkin Collection and comes with Hake’s COA.
