Item Description
Child-sized, satin-lined parka hood with plush fur-like outer covering and ribbon ties with plush ends. c. 1940s. Part of a line of 6 O’Brien winter accessories by National. Comes with original 2.25x3” tag/booklet showing hand-warmer, ear mates, parka hood, Bonnie beret, hand warmer and detachable ear mates. Four of the 6 show O’Brien wearing product. Tag shows moderate handling wear with creasing and surface paper lifts. VG. O’Brien was a notable child actress in the 1940s, her most notable role is that of “Tootie” in “Meet Me In St. Louis” opposite Judy Garland. She was awarded an Academy Juvenile Award in 1945 as the “Outstanding Child Actress Of 1944.” Hat appears unused and N. Mint. All items in this series are scarce and this is the first we’ve offered in our 44 years.
